UR-GE is partnering with the City of Creston, Creston Waterworks, and SICOG to replace the 125-year-old 4” water main currently serving Maple Street from Adams Street to Howard Street. The current water main is insufficient for modern fire sprinkler systems, and the infrastructure upgrade will allow for continued upgrades to the Uptown Neighborhood.

UR-GE aided SICOG in applying for $425,000 of grant funding through the Iowa Economic Development Authority, approved in the Spring of 2022 to help fund the project.

Work on the project is expected to start in 2022.
